Why Switch?

KC_profileMaking the decision to work with a new advisor doesn’t have to be a challenge. While potentially uncomfortable, tedious and even confusing, choosing to work with a new financial advisor can be beneficial if you find an advisor with whom you feel you have a good fit and who you feel will attend to your financial needs.

A new approach, easy to work-with model and ongoing, open communication are just a few of the benefits of establishing a relationship with Kristian Colvin.
In deciding how to move forward, consider the following …

What is your advisors experience in the financial advisory business?

Kristian Colvin has over 15 years experience in the financial advisory business. He has been face-to-face with thousands of individual investors and has the drive to help you tackle your most difficult needs. He is passionate about helping you accomplish your financial goals and believes in earning business, not just doing business.

What is your advisors academic background?
Kristian has an undergraduate degree in accounting and an MBA, both from Westminster College of Salt Lake City Utah. Whereas many financial planners have moved into the milieu from other fields, joining large commercial groups to capitalize on a fast-moving economy, Kristian’s areas of study give him what he feels is a foundational understanding of our historically-complex financial system and how the world’s markets are intertwined. Kristian believes he can use this knowledge to assist you in making informed decisions regarding your individual portfolio. He is also a Certified Financial Planner®, giving him valuable knowledge into estate planning, taxation, retirement needs and insurance.

How accessible is your advisor?
Kristian has an office in downtown La Jolla, California and is also available to meet with clients face-to-face, even if located outside of California. He can be reached via his office line, email and mobile phone.

Who’s really making decisions for your money?
Kristian believes education is key to a lasting successful advisory relationship. He meets with his clients at regular intervals to be sure their portfolios are still on track. Frequent meetings allow for more timely adjustments as goals and markets change. He provides clients with the necessary information and presentation to make the final decision on changes to their portfolio.

How do you pay fees to your advisor?
Kristian has easy-to-understand fees. Because of his independence, overhead remains low and the demand to upkeep a large operation is non-existent. In turn, these savings are realized in low fees and clear agreements. If you don’t know how your advisor gets paid, you may be paying too much.

Does your advisor offer proprietary products or research?
Kristian works for an independent broker dealer that does not have proprietary products or impose sales goals on its advisors. This gives him the freedom to offer unbiased advice. Also, the research used is from an independent third party provider so that there are no conflicts of interest.

If any of these questions or comments have you questioning your existing financial advisory relationship, please email or call Kristian Colvin for a free consultation.
